A Warning Shot? Experts Believe Missile From Chinese Sub Fired Off US West Coast

Beijing develops radiation weapons

Picture
China's military is developing electromagnetic pulse weapons that Beijing plans to use against U.S. aircraft carriers in any future conflict over Taiwan, according to an intelligence report made public on Thursday.
Portions of a National Ground Intelligence Center study on the lethal
effects of electromagnetic pulse (EMP) and high-powered microwave (HPM) weapons revealed that the arms are part of China's so-called "assassin's mace" arsenal - weapons that allow a technologically inferior China to defeat U.S. military forces. EMP weapons mimic the gamma-ray pulse caused by a nuclear blast that knocks out all electronics, including computers and automobiles, over wide areas. The phenomenon was discovered in 1962 after an aboveground nuclear test in the Pacific disabled electronics in Hawaii. The declassified intelligence report, obtained by the private National Security Archive, provides details on China's EMP weapons and plans for their use. Annual Pentagon reports on China's military in the past made only passing references to the arms.

Global race on to match U.S. drone capabilities

WikiLeaks: US vs China in battle of the anti-satellite space weapons

Picture
On the night of Feb 20, 2008, Robert Gates, the US Defence Secretary, was on a plane to Hawaii when his telephone rang. They told him the conditions were “ripe” to launch what can now be disclosed was a secret test of America’s anti-satellite weapons, Washington’s first such strike in space for 23 years. That night, the US navy’s Ticonderoga-class cruiser, USS Lake Erie, scored a direct hit on an American spy satellite, known as USA 193. The missile used, a highly sophisticated SM-3, took about three minutes to climb 150 miles above the Earth, where it flew past the satellite before turning back and destroying the target at an impact speed of 22,000mph.

The strike came about a year after the Chinese government had launched its own satellite attack, which started a secret “space war”,                                                  MORE

China Needs "Carrier Killer" Missile

China extending military reach

Picture
A maritime arms race is under way in the South China Sea. Beijing is rapidly developing a host of military capabilities that will enable it to project power well beyond its own shores. It is already the dominant regional naval power and many of its new systems could one day threaten US naval dominance as well. No wonder then that so many of its neighbours are worried; particularly those like Vietnam and the Philippines who are engaged in long-running maritime disputes with Beijing. According to Dr Andrew Erickson, a China expert at the US Naval War College: "China does not want to start a war, but rather seeks to wield its growing military might to 'win without fighting' by deterring actions that it views as detrimental to its core national interests."
Three weapons systems are emblematic of China's broadening strategic horizons. China's first aircraft carrier will begin sea trials later this year. Late last year, the first pictures were leaked of the prototype of Beijing's new "stealth" fighter. And US military experts believe that China has begun to deploy the world's first long-range ballistic missile capable of hitting a moving ship at sea.Mr Erickson says China's capabilities thus far have been focused on developing a regional anti-access or area denial strategy to prevent Taiwan from declaring independence. In part this strategy rests upon developing credible weapons systems to hold US carrier battle groups at risk should Washington elect to intervene.

Huawei is a front company for the PLA and the Chinese Communist Party. Hopefully, Americans will resist the temptation to help a Chinese company use its illicitly obtained American technology to compete with major American high tech employers like CISCO.

Communist China Economic Trojan Horse

Picture
China Wants To Construct A 50 Square MileSelf-Sustaining City South Of Boise, Idaho
The Communist Leadership in China gave up on ever getting  paid back the U.S. debt. They decided to develop a strategic instrument -- an economic equivalent of the Trojan Horse -- to take over the U.S. They will "construct a 50 square mile self-sustaining city" first in one State -- Idaho-- forcing the People of Idaho to pay the debt of the United States. Further, they plan to expand it in all States of the Union.

Communist China is doing exactly what our States must do by themselves. If the State of Idaho will "construct a 50 square mile self-sustaining city" by itself, the created wealth will belong to the State and the People of Idaho. Otherwise, the wealth will be created and owned by Communist China. Thus, the People of Idaho will actually become SLAVES paying a perpetual debt of the United States to Communist China.

Chinese Communist Government is not looking only at Idaho. It sent delegations to Ohio, Michigan and Pennsylvania this year to talk about setting up research and development bases and industrial parks. The technology zone proposal follows a model of science, technology and industrial parks in China — often fully contained cities with all services included.

China is dumping $2 trillion in US treasuries!

As we reported on April 21st, the US dollar is climaxing towards a perfect
storm of destruction that the Fed and US policy no longer has the power to control.  With inflation rising almost daily in many places for both food and energy, and the US debt ceiling just about to reach its maximum, the news that China intends to dump nearly $2 Trillion in treasuries onto the markets will simply accelerate thedestruction. The Fed will seemingly have no choice but to purchase and monetize (print money) China's offerings and the government will struggle to find any new source to borrow from.   MORE      and MORE HERE

Bridge Comes to San Francisco With a Made-in-China Label

Picture
At a sprawling manufacturing complex here, hundreds of Chinese laborers are now completing work on the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge.
Next month, the last four of more than two dozen giant steel modules — each with a roadbed segment about half the size of a football field — will be loaded onto a huge ship and transported 6,500 miles to Oakland. There, they will be assembled to fit into the eastern span of the new Bay Bridge. The project is part of China’s continual move up the global economic value chain — from cheap toys to Apple iPads to commercial jetliners — as it aims to become the world’s civil engineer.

What a ship....no wonder 'Made in China' is displacing North American made goods big time.
This monster transports goods across the Pacific in just 5 days!! This is one of three ships presently in service, with another two ships commissioned to be completed in 2012. These ships were commissioned by Wal-Mart to get all their goods and stuff from China. They hold an incredible 15,000 cartons and have a 207 foot deck beam!!  The full crew is just 13 people on a ship longer than a US Aircraft Carrier (which has a crew of 5,000). With it's 207' beam it is too big to fit through the Panama or Suez Canals.

It is strictly transpacific. Cruise speed: 31 knots.
The goods arrive 4 days before the typical container ship (18-20 knots)

on a China -to-  California run.
91% of Wal-Mart products are made in China .
So this behemoth is hugely competitive even when carrying perishable goods.

The ship was built in five sections. The sections floated together and then welded.
The command bridge is higher than a 10-story building and has 11 cargo crane rigs that can operate simultaneously unloading the entire ship in less than two hours.

Additional info:
Country of origin -   Denmark
Length - 1,302 ft
Width - 207 ft
Net cargo - 123,200 tons
Engine - 14 cylinders in-line diesel engine (110,000 BHP)
Cruise Speed - 31 knots
Cargo capacity - 15,000 TEU (1 TEU = 20 cubic feet)
Crew - 13 people !
First Trip - Sept. 08, 2006
Construction cost - US $145,000,000+

Silicone painting applied to the ship bottom reduces water resistance and saves 317,000 gallons of diesel per year.

  Editorial Comment!

A recent documentary in late March, 2010 on the History Channel noted that all of these containers are shipped back to China , EMPTY. Yep, that's right. We send nothing back on these ships. What does that tell you about the current financial state of this country? Just keep buying those imported goods (mostly gadgets) until you run out of money.

Then you may wonder what the cause of unemployment (maybe even your job) in the U.S. and Canada might be? 'Nuff said?
